Hah hah. I have a Sun X4275 server exporting NFS. We have clients on all 4 of the Gb ethers, and the Gb ethers are the bottleneck, not the disks or filesystem. I suggest you either enable the WriteBack cache on your HBA, or add SSD's for ZIL. Performance is 5-10x higher this way than using "naked" disks.
