thanks for all the feedback. Some followup questions: If OS will see all 4 cores, will it also make use of all 4 cores for ZFS. ie is ZFS fully multi threaded?
Is there any point to run ZFS over just two 2 disks? without the extra sata ports I'm thinking I may have to abandon this idea. The plan was to use the internal ide just for a small boot disk and cdrom. I don't think it would be a good idea to mix ide and sata zfs, agreed?
