If ZFS provides such a terrible experience for you can I be brave enough to suggest that perhaps you are on the wrong mailing list and perhaps you should be watching the pinwheels with HFS+? ;-) While we surely do hear all the horror stories on this list, I don't think that ZFS is as wildly unstable as you make it out to be.
