Considering how long ZFS has been out, if no one has complained about it before, it's most likely that (as is often the case) my requirements are out of the ordinary <sigh>. Even if an RFE were accepted and implemented, it would presumably be years before it showed up in a production Solaris release, which wouldn't meet the implementation timeline for the project in question.
