I was actually looking forward to ZFS ACLs, as they should have been much more compatible with Samba/Windows clients. Unfortunately, so far it looks like the implementation results in a lot of breakage. I'm still trying to understand why the ZFS ACLs behave the way they do; but I fear they are not going to work out the way I hoped :(. -- Paul B.
