For a laptop scenario, where you don't have any option to add a 2nd drive, I agree with Darren and others. But in any other usage scenario, I don't think its a good idea. Perhaps you could post some details about your hardware environment and why its limited to a single disk drive? You understand that if ZFS detects any data corruption and you don't have any designed-in data redundancy, ZFS will make the pool unavailable and you are SOL. > That is exactly what I do on my laptop, with one exception.
