I'm afraid that didn't give any more info:

$ cabal install yi --dry-run -v
Reading available packages...
Resolving dependencies...
cabal: cannot configure hint-0.3.3.2. It requires ghc >6.6
There is no available version of ghc that satisfies >6.6

If the -v flag is supposed to be more useful, perhaps my cabal is old:
$ cabal --version
cabal-install version 0.10.2
using version 1.10.1.0 of the Cabal library
