What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Yi on Mac OS X 10.6 (with case-sensitive filesystem) with cabal
2. Attempt to open/create a file that doesn't already exist
What is the expected output?
A new empty buffer for the file.
What do you see instead?
error: ~/foo.hs: canonicalizePath: does not exist (No such file or
directory)

What version of Yi are you using? 0.6.3.0
What version of GHC? 7.0.3
What version of Cabal? 1.10.1.0
What operating system/version? Mac OS X 10.6
If you generated it (--debug) please provide your .yi.dbg file
