I've just installed GHC 6.10.3 and the Haskell Platform on a brand new Ubuntu installation. Because the Haskell Platform includes Alex, it was not necessary to explicity install this via Cabal, and then `cabal install` from darcs ran successfully.
So, I've packaged the latest version as a soft release. To do this, I removed the parserTest and -fhacking from yi.cabal. Also, I pushed a patch to darcs that includes an upper bound for the 'base' package, as is now required for Hackage uploads.
