I have also encountered the display corruption associated with annotation of Haskell code for: "::", "<-", "->", etc. (in vty mode on both urxvt and xterm). I have attached a config file that removes annotations in Haskell modes (I would have inserted it here but I suspect the formatting would be garbled). This seems to be a common issue (for me :-) and awkward enough for new yi users that I'd suggest this for the Yi wiki page (I'd actually suggest a tricks/and/tips section of the wiki page for this kind of thing).
