Engineering Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1596013 Title: interfaces file regenerated on each boot for some datasources Status in cloud-init: Expired Bug description: cloud-init will re-write /etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg in cloud-init local mode when it does not find a valid datasource and the previous datasource did not implement check_instance_id. -- original bug -- On xenial (using daily images from today), if I create a new VM: sudo uvt-kvm create --cpu 4 --memory 2000 --disk 30 --bridge virbr0 --password ubuntu tester release=xenial and make some changes to the /etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud- init.cfg file, when I reboot, those changes are gone.
