From the DisplayPort on the laptop it goes to a DP -> DVI and then I have a DVI -> HDMI adapter. Then HDMI cable into the TV.

I've tested on all three with the same result. On the TV I have to set 'overscan' to 'off' for the display to fit. I also set 'gamemode' to 'on' otherwise the mouse lags. >try get-edid / parse-edid to know what it announces.
