to the first path for Mac OS?

This was explained in the footnote found at the very end of my previous email:
---
[*] XMLmind XML Editor v6 user preferences directory is:

    * $HOME/.xxe6/ on Linux.

    * $HOME/Library/Application Support/XMLmind/XMLEditor6/ on the Mac.

    * %APPDATA%\XMLmind\XMLEditor6\ on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.

Example: C:\Documents and Settings\john\Application Data\XMLmind\XMLEditor6\ on Windows XP. C:\Users\john\AppData\Roaming\XMLmind\XMLEditor6\ on Windows Vista, 7 and 8.

If you cannot see the "Application Data" directory using Microsoft Windows File Manager, turn on Tools>Folder Options>View>File and Folders>Show hidden files and folders.

For v5, replace "6" by "5" in the above user preferences directory names.
---

Hence your v5.9 user preferences are found in a directory looking like:

/Users/Charles/Library/Application Support/XMLmind/XMLEditor5/

and your newly created v6.3 user preferences are found in a directory looking like:

/Users/Charles/Library/Application Support/XMLmind/XMLEditor6/

The Finder may not make it easy navigating to the Library/Application Support/ folder. If this is the case, please open a Terminal and use commands like ls, cp, etc, to migrate your XMLmind XML Editor preferences from v5 to v6.
