We are running an older version of XMLmind Editor Professional
Edition
(4.5.2). I am wondering if newer versions include a Convert Document
menu option for generating DocBook webhelp, as defined here:
http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/1.76.1/webhelp/docs/content/ch02s01.html
My edition includes conversions for HTML, HTML Help, Java Help,
Eclipse
Help, etc. but not webhelp.
Yes. See for example
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/wh/index.html
I am on pro version 4.5.2. What version do I need to upgrade to in
order to have the conversion option to produce output like your example?
The above Web Help example does not have an "Index" tab, but
DocBook index entries are fully supported.
Is it possible to include an "Index" tab if your document includes
valid DocBook index entries?
Note that we don't use the Web Help generator coming with the
DocBook XSL stylesheets. This means that
http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/xsl/1.76.1/webhelp/docs/content/ch02s01.html
does not apply to our tool.
We have developped our own Web Help generator, which we use also
for Web Help generated out of DITA documents.
Example, DITA Web Help having an "Index" tab generated using the
same Web Help generator as DocBook:
http://www.xmlmind.com/ditac/_distrib/doc/manual/webhelp/index.html
This Web Help coming from DITA is really nice. Should we consider
porting from DocBook to DITA to get better Web Help output?
Thanks for your quick response!
Best regards,
Pierce
