In order to reproduce the problem:

1) I've installed and started XXE v5.4.1, then uninstalled it, then installed and started XXE v5.5.0 and indeed everything worked fine.

2) I've uninstalled XXE v5.5.0 and then re-installed XXE v5.5.0, but at a *different* *location*. I got exactly all the problems you had when I started the new copy of XXE v5.5.0.

rm -rf ~/.xxe5/cache/ solved these problems. However, we cannot expect a normal user to do this.

This is indeed very, very, annoying. We'll try to solve this issue for the next release.

Hi Hussein,

I first evaluated XMLmind version 5.before-5. Then, you released
version 5.5, and the app was updated during the evaluation period. This
worked fine. After that I deinstalled XMLmind completely some days
ago. But today I re-installed it again. And during start-up, I got a
long message about "Configuration errors: Erros found in GUI
specification". See the attached screenshots. My guess is that this
bug was not in the previous version. I have not edited anything.
