We cannot reproduce this problem here at XMLmind, on any of our
machines. I'm sorry but I cannot help you because I have not enough
information to do so.

--> "XXE freezes"

See FAQ: XXE seems to freeze when I do such and such action. What's
going on?
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/faq.html#display_exception_in_console

--> "saw strange artifacts on his screen."

On Windows, may be it's a problem between Java and the display driver of
your coworker. Please edit xxe.jstart or xxe.bat depending on how he
start XXE and add this:

-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false

just after

-Xmx512m

--> "java -version"

Instead please start XXE and Shift-Click on "Help|About XMLmind XML
Editor". Then Copy (Ctrl-A then Ctrl-C) what's displayed in the central
area of the dialog box and send it to us. More info
