This is a Trident video driver bug. Disable hardware mouse cursor support and/or 2D acceleration to work around the problem. Option "swcursor" and Option "noaccel" Try one at a time, then both if necessary. If noaccel is needed, and you would like a better work around, fiddle with the XaaNo options listed on the XF86Config manpage. There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and BSD.
