Herbert, He straightened out the ~/Library/TeXShop/Engines issue. Now I'm waiting for him to follow my suggestion and edit XeTeX.engine and XeLaTeX.engine so they look like mine. I conjecture that the path at the top of his engines has /usr/texbin but not /Library/TeX/texbin.
Dick I hope we are almost there. If this works, I'll let you take over the rest. He'll need the correct path to run TeX Live Utility. Fingers crossed.
