Please don't make assumptions on what is and isn't a priority based on who sponsored development years ago. There is no plan or agenda on font and script support, much less on this particular issue, that should be considered only on its merits. And there are for sure bugs to be fixed in many areas, needless to say, in XeTeX and fonts and other programs and utilities. But that shouldn't encourage idle speculations.
