Probably not. IIRC the binaries where around 75 KB (Lua) and
750 KB(JS). Compare this with 1 MB for a recent Knuthian TeX
binary (on Linux) and 2 MB for pdfTeX.

JS was simply a behemoth to pull in compared to Lua.
