although this list is probably not the best place to ask, I do so,
because googling didn't help either:
Is there an ft-ligature in TeX Gyre Pagella and I or xetex do something
wrong, or isn't it?
Minimal example for the f-ligatures:
\documentclass{minimal}
\usepackage{fontspec}
\setmainfont{TeX Gyre Pagella}
\begin{document}
Alfi often eats puff waffles.
\end{document}
