I'm not sure quite what the above means. We have been doing grammars, written in English, of various languages, including Bangla (written in the Bengali script), Urdu (written in the Nasta'liq form of the Perso-Arabic script), and Pashto (written in the Naskh form of the Perso-Arabic script). We use different fonts for each of these scripts, and the Charis SIL font for the English (and IPA). The scripts are so different from Latin scripts that it makes little sense to try to find a single font that does both Latin and those scripts well. (That said, there have been attempts to create fonts that do both Arabic and Latin scripts; to my eye, they look bad, but I suppose I'm not a good judge.) But maybe that's not what Apostolos is talking about...
