fonts, and my be even between different versions of the same font.
Absolutely correct. My enthusiasm came from the fact that the original poster had tried a bunch of things, none of which had worked. Calling the character by glyph ID certainly should fix his immediate problem--I have used it this way a couple of times and it has always succeeded.
