Fonts with Syriac support come with X11: the Beth Mardutho (Serto,
Estrangelo, East Syriac) fonts in /usr/X11/lib/X11/fonts/OTF/SyrCOM*. http://www.bethmardutho.org/meltho/
There is also a (TTF only?) ttf-xfree86-nonfree-syriac or such package
for Linux.
