1. As per previous discussions on this there was a request that protocol files must be platform agnostic meaning that no specific compiler/platform code allowed. For that reason we have created 2 separate files: protocol itself + companion Linux specific file with structure definitions, packaging etc.
2. My intention was that these files go into Linux kernel tree and the corresponding Xen headers are all under include/xen/interface/io folder.
