Hello Matthieu, I am glad you answered, although it meant less time for bug fixing; the upside is the fact that we know now that you agree with us on this issue. > > As I already sent you > > an email privately, me and Eddy P. actually met in middle of UK on > > DebConf7. > > Yes, and I have not answered because I was in Italy for work. I am glad that was not ignored. I think we both thought you didn't want to talk about this issue. I already sent a call for updates (yes I screwed partly, but the next time I won't repeat the mistake). I am sure Adnan and myself can help in the release coordination so is easier for the leader. > I also sent email about the port of Windows and Mac OS X. I saw that. It is great you try to do it, but if those arches do not have an active porter, then maybe we should stop supporting them until the problem is solved. I don't think that anyone would mind. And if they do, well, they can step up and become the porter ;-) . > I have also asked for a volunteer for searching sounds and so on... > > But ? but nobody is volunteer... Indeed it looked like it; I really like the way you thought about the sounds, professionals and the money. That seems like a good idea, I wish I had that idea myself ;-) . > > But this last year people have just been doing whatever they think is > > the best and implementing new features, and new bugs along with them. > > What is your problem ? How many of them feel that this is what they should be doing now? Believe me, bug fixing is also fun :-) ! Is not that demotivating at all. > > Wormux needs a project leader! A clenched fist! You must know that feature freeze is really demotivating and We'll keep you from heading straight into a wall ;-) > people who complains too. If you step up as a leader, people working on features would surely agree to your authority and will refrain from working on the stable branch if you indicate a feature freeze. It is possible to work on a branch ;-) , anyone knows that. The features can be merged after the release, if they don't care about working on the release itself. If it becomes a custom to release every 6 months (or some other fixed cycle) people will never feel that their work is in vain, if they miss this release they will get into the next. > I have a plan for release but currently I'm too riled up to talk about > that... IMHO this kind of things should be announced in advance so people know what to expect. I am not dictating or patronizing, I am just saying what I think is the best way to go forward. > Again, thanks to make me lost half an hour answer to your email instead > of fixing bug. No more time available this evening... Sorry for that. You should look at it from a different angle: now we know you care about the project and we can discuss how can we fix/tackle the problems instead of being unsatisfied with the current status :-) . -- Regards, EddyP ============================================= "Imagination is more important than knowledge" A.Einstein _______________________________________________ Wormux-dev mailing list Wormux-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/wormux-dev
