Tim, can you send me the melt command you are using? I'm still getting
failures with invalid paths and I am using melt.

Cheers,
Stephen

Subject: Re: [WiX-users] Purely WiX patching and FeatureRef

I guess I that is what I get from following documentation examples like what is
in the current Wix Toolset documentation:
http://wixtoolset.org/documentation/manual/v3/patching/wix_patching.html

Okay Rob I'll relook at my samples, make the modifications, and start my patch
testing again to verify the changes... Thanks for you help...

By the way do you know when will the next version of the documentation/help
will be coming out? The reason I ask is that with the Pure WiX examples that I
have been using I found reference to Melt.exe and that it was mentioned that if
say I just had the product .msi and .wixpdb and tried to generate a patch
without the original paths to the built source that the patch creation would
fail. So I tested and sure enough it failed. I then added the Melt commands to
the build and it fixed the issue. So if the documentation was updated for Pure
WiX then anyone new to Patching will see reference to melt and not run into the
case of moved files/directories.

Also is there any documentation on the Patch and PatchFamily elements and what
each of the Patch element entries are and how they are used?

Thanks again.
