I'm pretty sure I've seen this on stackoverflow and possibly also in this mail list. In general, it is an XSL/XSLT general problem of using a modified "identity transform" to remove elements in the transform based on an XPath (you can add multiple exclusions if you need to). Variations on this include altering attributes, etc. Wikipedia may even have something on its XSLT page.
