XSLT? The -var argument is expected to be a variable that points to the directory that is the argument to the dir argument. One option might be to change -var wix.IntelaTracPath to be -var var.IntelaTracPath.de and change your commandline to candle. If calling candle via a wixproj file, add the following to that file: <PropertyGroup> <DefineConstants>$(DefineConstants);IntelaTracPath.de=!(wix.IntelaTracPath)\de</DefineConstants> </PropertyGroup> or if you are calling candle directly, try adding -d IntelaTracPath.de=!(wix.IntelaTracPath)\de Another variation on the same idea is to add the following to one of your WXS files (Product.wxs, perhaps?): <WixVariable Id="IntelaTracPath.de" Value="!(IntelaTracPath)\de" /> and change -var wix.IntelaTracPath to be -var wix.IntelaTracPath.de I haven't tested either approach but they each should be simple enough to try (maybe the second approach first, since it is "simpler"). Please let us know if either one works.
