There are too many WiX web sites - when floundering I didn't know which one
to look at next. :)

Even the official site is a bit confusing in that the front page recent news
implies the May 28 RC version is the latest and greatest, but the "See the
latest releases" link takes you to newer ones with the recommendation
"Please upgrade often (we recommend at least monthly)."

I'm coming from having managed adequately with the old (now removed) VS
deployment project to install desktop Windows applications, so the normal
things that did - install EXEs and documentation files, registry keys, links
to installed files, with a basic installer UI for license agreement, target
folder, etc. (which I now know WiX provides for).

Is there something that could be improved to help you find more of the
resources that are online?

After having downloaded and installed the product, I naturally used the
documentation that was installed in preference to anything online on the
assumption that the product and its supplied documentation were somewhat in
step with each other.
