Hi, I have a pretty horrible issue with a setup and I was hoping someone can help me with a solution.
Setup version 1 has been released. The uninstall routine for this setup has a custom action (Written in C++) that has a bug. It locks up a folder in the install location and the folder is accessible only at the end of the MSI. I need to "upgrade" setup 1 to setup 1.1. Setup 1.1 upgrade uninstalls setup version 1 and then installs the new version. But since the uninstall of version 1 has the folders locked, the installation that follows does not work. Is there any way I can fix the uninstall custom action in version 1 during the version 1.1 upgrade? Running a msp before the upgrade is not an option. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
