Can you tell us why you wanted to create a MSU file? In most places where one would be able to use MSU (MDT and SCCM) there are also possiblities to have msi or exe installations.

That's a Windows/Microsoft Update format that I don't believe is heavily documented outside of Microsoft. That said, it is a CAB file so you can use 7-zip or similar to extract the contents. However, you can probably find more official documentation inside of Microsoft.
