Hi list, I'd like my MSI package to check the screen resolution for the logged-in user account (or for the local machine instead, if it's not possible) and to change it to 1280/1024. I hopped that a search in the registry for the key which is in charge with the default screen resolution will help me.
According to my knowledges (only a newby in the Windows Installer field!), those keys cannot be found without giving the full path of the key name. The problem is that the path includes an unique ID (GUID). That makes my research in the registry to depend of my machine (or Windows Installation, or video hardware...I don't know exactly). Is there any other idea to accomplish this task, or it's not possible to handle that kind of problem? Thanks a lot for your words.
