Not true. There's been a lot of "crackdowns" lately based on copyright and software patent issues, and it seem like it is getting worse (ACTA anyone ?). At least if the servers are physically within your own country, then you are able to proceed with local legal remedies if there's trouble, something that's difficult to conceive of doing in a foreign country. It's kind of hard to make the case that you are just doing business in your own country if your servers are based overseas too.
