You simply run
fwget
these days and it will install the right firmware package.
If you want to build it yourself fwget -n would show you which flavour
it would install for you. Altneratively man iwlwififw can ell you if
you check yout PCI IDs from pciconf -l output yourself.
Lastly loading the iwlwifi driver would tell and complain which firmware
it cannot find.
That said you'll likely want the 22000 flavour.
In the unlikely chance the firmware is missing currently, I have a task
