Hi, I am having problems with HP computers - serious problems! I have been using the packet driver for a couple of years now on different computers (mainly Dell, though) with absolutely no problems. In fact it has been working so well that I haven't been bothered ever upgrading from version 2.3. However, now it refuses to work on new HP laptops. I have tracked it, and it is all the way down to the PacketOpenAdapter function. It just doesn't return a pointer. When I try to get a list of the installed NIC's I get nothing, but this boils down to the same problem because all the NIC's found in the registry are internally tested with the PacketOpenAdapter function. Just to be sure I have upgraded to the latest version with no luck - same problem. The installation program (2.3 or 3.1) complete successfully.
Has anybody else had the same problem and if so, how do I get around it? Thanks in advance, Jens. ================================================================== This is the WinPcap users list.
