The pcap_lookupdev returns a Wide string so you've got to read a char out of two.
Your Device is in fact :
00 00 65 76 69 63 65 5c 50 61 63 6b 65 74 5f  7b 44 32 46 41
33 33 39 41 2d 46 43 46 38 2d 34 35 43 32 2d 42 42 37 36 2d
32 42 32 39 42 34 31 39 43 32 34 41 7d 00 00 00

Translate this into hexadecimal and you'll found your device name.

P.S : Excuse me for my English I'm French.

Subject: [WinPcap-users] Problem with detecting adapters (two NICs of the same type)

Hi,

I have a problem with detecting adapters. WinPcap doesn't detect adapters installed.

Windows 2000 SP2, WinPcap 2.30, Admin rights. Network adapters installed:
First adapter: Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC 10.127.127.10 255.255.255.0
Second adapter: Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC 192.168.12.50 255.255.255.0

PacketGetAdaptersNames returns buffer with the following data:

00 00 00 00 65 00 76 00 69 00 63 00 65 00 5c 00 50 00 61 00
63 00 6b 00 65 00 74 00 5f  00 7b 00 44 00 32 00 46 00 41 00
33 00 33 00 39 00 41 00 2d 00 46 00 43 00 46 00 38 00 2d 00
34 00 35 00 43 00 32 00 2d 00 42 00 42 00 37 00 36 00 2d 00
32 00 42 00 32 00 39 00 42 00 34 00 31 00 39 00 43 00 32 00
34 00 41 00 7d 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

What's wrong? Can you help me?

Yours sincerely,
Alexey
