Its difficult to know who counts as an academic (with usernames & people only declaring what they want to declare on their user pages), & whether you mean editcounts or number of FA, GA etc but thinking about those I interact with who might fit the bill...
User:Malleus Fatuorum (Manchester) over 100,000 edits User:Bencherlite (London/Oxford) over 30,000 edits (but also has several alternate accounts ) User:Rodw (me - therefore bias) (Bristol & Somerset) over 50,000 edits But I'm sure there must be others...?
