Thank you Travis and Pastor for starting this thread - and for the link to the
Commons category for the event!
For everyone on the mailing list who attended the event, but not as a
volunteer: would you mind filling this questionnaire, which will help us report
to the foundation as well as plan our programming for the rest of the year and
beyond? https://forms.gle/quiaoJRAYKAYPgyf8
If you are curious about the impact of the birthday:
- 334 people registered, but at least 500 people attended (the librarians
stopped counting in the early afternoon; anyone who came between 12 and 1 also
was not counted)
- we served 120 slices of cakes, and another 200 cookies and small cakes
- I screenprinted around 300 items
- 30% of the attendees indicated being under 25
- the large majority of the attendees was new to editing, and many made their
first edit!
- Kelci, the reference librarian who hosted us in December, reported seeing an
attendee later that afternoon continuing their research upstairs. She sends her
congratulations for the event.
This took 20 volunteers on the day, 2 weeks of preparations and cleaning up, 10
people putting up 100 posters, and more. We did it!
