Risker, perhaps you missed this in my original message -- I did not express that we need a new board. Item #3 on my list was entirely under the heading: "The Board should set up the next long-term ED for success" I do not have strong opinions about whether or not substantial changes to the board composition are in order. (Apparently you do.) But I DO think the Board should be asking itself that question, alongside the other items (3a through 3d). That is what I suggested.
