-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi everybody! I just wanted to tell you that over the last days Espreon has tried to convert lots of stuff in trunk. This change does basically tackle the problem of misuses of the minus character. That is it does change the usage of the minus in several places, replacing it with a (unicode) dash or a (unicode) minus. This change was applied to all po files in trunk using pofix.py. *BUT* a side effect of this is that from now on the trunk po files are significantly different from the branches/1.8 po files. Po files that are sent in for branches/1.8 can still be applied to trunk, no problem there since we run pofix.py on them before committing. But if you got your files from trunk it is not possible to commit them to branches/1.8 since this will lead to by far more than 100 fuzzy strings! We tried to not introduce any fuzzy strings in trunk by using pofix.py. There might still be some cases that we missed. Of course we have (tried to) not change your translation. That is cases of "-25%" and "-100%" *were* changed. But most changes will only affect the original strings. So if you do want to apply those changes to your translation, too, you will have to do it by hand. The reasoning for this is that you might not want to do this or already have done so. Please do *not* convert these string parts in branches/1.8: "-25%", "-100%" and "-1%". Otherwise it will lead to problems when trying to apply pofix.py on files that were meant for 1.8 and are committed to trunk, too. The easiest way for finding the strings that were changed is looking at utils/pofix.py. You can either do so right out of your trunk svn checkout or you use the file from the web interface[1]. I ran a pot-update onto trunk, too. So from now on the stats do really differ!
Short summary: * changes of the usage of minus in trunk * po files left intact without creating too many fuzzy strings by using pofix.py * either continue working on branches/1.8/ or redownload the po files for trunk * trunk po files can *not* be committed to branches/1.8 anymore because of really different strings * if you want to have those changes in your translation, you have to go through the list by hand relying on the "diff" that can be found at [1] but, if you do so for branches/1.8 please do make sure *not* to convert "-25%", "-100%" and "-1%". * if you work on trunk files, please make sure to fetch the latest version! That is everything for the moment. So far I don't know yet when I will release 1.8.1 or 1.9.0.
