Rereading this thread come to understand that definition/semantics is a 
critical aspect in this discussion.
*Bluntly* summarized:
- Sunshine = seeing difference between lighted area and shadowed area.
Like KarenK's device is doing
- Lightlevel = level of undirected solar radiation, not/hardly 
differentating on wavelength.
Like most light sensors in 'private' PWSes will provide.


There is a third device, the pyrheliometer

tracker <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_tracker>. See also direct 
insolation <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_insolation> (please note 
the character o in the middle of the word, not u).

I am not sure, if "lightlevel" is the appropriate name for that kind of
