If you aren't concerned about a console you can get set up for half of your $300 budget. In fact you can buy two systems. (Keep one as a spare) I use the Ambient Weather WS-2902 array ($132) and the Ecowitt GW-1100 ($30) The array is accurate, has spare parts readily available and is well supported. The weewx driver for the GW-1100 is excellent.
