Annet is right to start questioning basics; this stuff if fairly well tested 
and widely deployed, and it does work...

Just to recheck my understanding: we know that routing is basically active 
because the app name 'social' is being omitted from outgoing URLs, right? And 
is not required in incoming URLs?
