The "Batman" logo is not a new one that is coming -- it was one that was proposed over a year ago but was never adopted. You are right that the old Google Groups interface still shows the old logo, but you should be using the new Google Groups interface at https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/web2py, which doesn't have a logo at all (we should change the old one, though).
