Virtual fields can already be added to Rows
objects: http://web2py.com/book/default/chapter/06#Virtual-Fields.
Also, SQLTABLE takes an 'extracolumns' argument, like this:

extracolums = [{'label':A('Extra',_href='#'),
                    'class': '', #class name of the header
                    'width':'', #width in pixels or %
                    'content':lambda row, rc:
A('Edit',_href='edit/%s'%row.id),
                    'selected': False #agregate class selected to this
column
                    }]

And SQLFORM.grid takes a 'links' argument, which can be used to add extra
columns.
