You raise a lot of good point. It may be beyond the scope of the book
but I can revise chapter 1.

One thing you do not see and I did not say is a big change under the
hood. Until 2 week ago the master doc was my latex file. People could
edit the book online but I still had to incorporate the changes into
the latex somewhat manually. I changed this (one more reason I
developed markmin). Now the online book is the master and the latex/
pdf is automatically generated from it. It is still not editable but
that is a big step in keeping it updated.
