I have an instance with root mounted on EBS storage and if take snapshots of the latter. If I understand how this works the root filesystem should be backed up in the snapshots. What puzzle me if that I cannot find a way to restore the snapshots and any test involing taking up/down the instance are incredidibly show compared with my other vmware machine.
