I am using the latest version from trunk, on Ubuntu, using Firefox. When I hit "pack plugin" from the plug-in details screen, I recieve a w2p file. When I hit "pack all" from the site screen, I recieve a w2p file.
I am confused as to why you are getting a .gz. Perhaps Opera is looking at the mimetype returned (which is a .gz file) and renaming it.
