Yep, that's pretty clear in docs... (just  read it now :)

I don't see a file called *"NEWINSTALL"*
maybe it's a temp file, but I read this in docs:

When web2py is upgraded it comes with a file called "NEWINSTALL". If web2py 
finds this file, it understands an upgrade was performed, hence it removed 
the file and creates a new "welcome.w2p".
The current web2py version is stored in the field "VERSION" and it follows 
standard semantic versioning notation where the build id is the build 
timestamp.


 I was tempted to use the welcome, since it is the default loading app, and
I didn't want to get into routes.py for a while.

I will post what I learn today about routes.py, as I have had trouble 
getting it working, although, I think it is simple once you know what to do.
